It was Stats and Microbiology day today!! I love Microbiology so far--although we haven't had any tests yet...he doesn't do much lecture (which is gross) but we have a lab every day. =) Today was testing for Gram + and Gram - bacteria.

LaDonna and I made this smear of Gram+ (Staphlococcus) and Gram- (E-Coli) bacteria. Our professor said that it turned out really good, and that we had some E-Coli that was ready to multiply, which was unusual for this young of bacteria (less than 24 hours old). =) I guess I'm good at this!

And per Mimi's request...I also did this last night. =)
Listening to: CSI:New York
Being able to multiply E-Coli is good? Ewwww. Gosh I'm proud? :)
ReplyDeleteI totally get the excitement of the e coli & staph. Although, after you see what grows in a petri dish, kind of makes you want to wash your hands continually when out in public, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteJosh looks great (as always!).
I forgot to type how cool the picture of the smear with the micro book behind it looks!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't gotten around to petri dishes yet but that's going to be fun too! I hope we grow slime mold like Cody...LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks, Mahmi! It was in the lab...thankfully Barnett has been on drugs his whole life so he didn't really pay any attention to me taking a picture of a slide. LOL
I'm pretty sure that Barnett wasn't even in the lab at that point lol. I think he gets lost sometimes
ReplyDeleteProbably. He was out in the bathroom lighting up a spleef. LOL
